About the brand

Audemars Piguet is one of the oldest and most respected watchmakers in the world, founded in 1875 in the Vallée de Joux, Switzerland, a region synonymous with haute horlogerie. As a family-owned company for nearly 150 years, Audemars Piguet has been a pioneer of innovation and design, consistently producing complex mechanical timepieces with extraordinary finishing and avant-garde aesthetics.

The brand’s most influential creation, the Royal Oak was introduced in 1972 and dramatically transformed the industry by presenting a luxury sport watch crafted from steel with an integrated bracelet and avant-garde octagonal bezel designed by Gérald Genta. This bold move not only challenged conventions but also ushered in a new category of high-end sport watches that continues to dominate collector demand.

Over subsequent decades, Audemars Piguet has expanded the Royal Oak family to include complications ranging from chronographs and dual time to ultra-thin perpetual calendars, tourbillons, and openworked masterpieces, all while maintaining a singular dedication to artisanal finishing and mechanical innovation.

The Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar remains among the brand’s most coveted references, blending daily wearability with the intellectual allure of a full calendar complication that charts the passing of time with mechanical precision. Ownership of an Audemars Piguet isn’t merely about luxury; it’s about participating in a lineage of craftsmanship that continues to push the boundaries of watchmaking excellence.

About the watch

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 26615TI.OO.1220TI.01 stands at the intersection of luxury sport watch desirability and sophisticated mechanical complexity. As part of the iconic Royal Oak collection. First introduced in 1972 and credited with defining the luxury sports watch genre, this reference elevates the concept with one of Audemars Piguet’s most revered complications: the perpetual calendar.

Measuring 41 mm in titanium with a slim profile of approximately 9.5 mm, the watch remains true to the Royal Oak’s signature octagonal bezel with exposed screws, glare-proofed sapphire crystal, and integrated bracelet design, all hallmarks of the Gérald Genta-designed classic. A titanium case and bracelet not only enhance its contemporary sportiness but also significantly reduce weight, offering both comfort and rugged durability rarely matched in precious-metal counterparts.

What immediately draws the eye is the salmon “Grande Tapisserie” dial, a rare and sought-after variation that gives this perpetual calendar its distinctive presence. The dial’s finely textured guilloché pattern provides depth and sophistication while remaining highly legible. Subdials articulate the full suite of perpetual calendar functions: day of the week, date, month, leap year, and moon phase, all synchronized to account for differing month lengths and leap years without manual correction until 2100.

Powering this extraordinary display is Audemars Piguet’s automatic Calibre 5134, a movement based on the brand’s storied perpetual calendar heritage designed for modern reliability and collector appeal. The open caseback reveals refined finishing, including Côtes de Genève, anglage, and a 22k gold rotor, underscoring AP’s commitment to both functional precision and aesthetic achievement.

Produced in a limited edition of 300 pieces and highly coveted by enthusiasts, the Royal Oak 26615TI blends the architectural boldness of the Royal Oak with perpetual calendar sophistication, making it a standout acquisition for collectors who demand exclusivity, technical prowess, and the enduring legacy of Audemars Piguet.
