Patek Philippe Unveils the New Cubitus Collection
F.P. Journe
Tourbillon Souverain Platinum 38mm 03T
At The Second Hand Club, we are delighted to offer one of the most historically significant independent wristwatches of the modern era: the F.P. Journe Tourbillon Souverain in platinum with a rose gold dial and brass movement, 38 mm.
This is the watch that started it all for Francois-Paul Journe, the first production wristwatch from Montres Journe, and the first tourbillon wristwatch ever fitted with a remontoir d'egalite, a constant-force device that feeds uniform energy to the escapement regardless of the mainspring's state of wind.
The brass movement era, spanning roughly from 1999 to 2004 before Journe transitioned to 18k rose gold movement construction, produced a small number of these watches that have become the most sought-after references in all of independent watchmaking. The Calibre 1498 in rhodium-plated brass, visible through the sapphire caseback, represents Journe's original mechanical vision in its earliest and most raw form: 25 jewels, 42 hours of power reserve, a one-second remontoir, and a tourbillon, all housed within a platinum case measuring just 38 mm and 9.2 mm thick.
For collectors seeking a pre-owned F.P. Journe Tourbillon Souverain brass movement for sale, this is a watch of genuine rarity and profound importance to the history of 21st-century watchmaking.
