Decoding the Worth: Are Luxury Watches a Lucrative Investment?
F.P. Journe
Tourbillon Souverain Ref. TN
We are honored to present the FP Journe Tourbillon Souverain Ref. TN, Calibre 1403, a horological tour de force where technical precision meets timeless elegance. Conceived in 1999 as the first wrist-tourbillon with a remontoire (constant force device), and upgraded in 2004 to include dead-beat seconds, this model is a rare benchmark in modern independent watchmaking.
Housed in a 40 mm case (platinum or 18k 6N gold), paired with a white-gold & guilloché silver dial, the Ref. TN encapsulates Journe’s dedication to subtle finishing: polished screws, beveled edges, Geneva waves, and bridges with circular stripes. On the movement side, its manually-wound Calibre 1403 offers 42 ± 2 hours of power reserve, beats at 21,600 vph (3 Hz), includes 26 jewels, a 15-tooth escape wheel, and a free-sprung balance with four inertia weights and a Breguet overcoil.
Produced between 2003 and 2018, with only around a hundred of the Tourbillon Souverain with remontoire and dead-beat seconds made, it has achieved a level of rarity and respect that places it among the most sought-after chronometry pieces in contemporary haute horlogerie.
