About the brand
As a highly respected name in the world of luxury watches, Laurent Ferrier has a rich history and pedigree in the industry. The man behind the brand, Laurent Ferrier himself, was exposed to the art of mechanical timekeeping from a young age and later honed his skills at Patek Philippe, where he played a key role in the production of the iconic Nautilus watch. Ferrier's time at Patek Philippe was instrumental in establishing his reputation as a skilled watchmaker, and he later co-founded his eponymous brand, Laurent Ferrier, in 2009.
Laurent Ferrier is known for creating beautifully crafted, handmade watches that exude timeless elegance and a custom contemporary aesthetic. The brand's close ties to the world of endurance racing only add to its appeal for those seeking luxury sports watches. In 2019, Laurent Ferrier released the Grand Sport Tourbillon, a limited edition watch created to celebrate the company's 10th anniversary and the 40th anniversary of Ferrier and his business partner's third-place finish at Le Mans.
Now, in 2022, the brand has added a permanent member to its Sport line with the Sport Auto Blue. This luxurious sports watch features an integrated bracelet, grade 5 titanium exterior, and an automatic calibre movement, all brought together with Laurent Ferrier's signature bespoke charm and individual style. The Sport Auto Blue is sure to be a hit with collectors and enthusiasts of luxury sports watches.
The watch
Laurent Ferrier presents the Galet Regulateur, the brand's first regulator wristwatch. Regulator watches are known for their legibility and precision, as they feature separate axes for the hour and minute hands, with the minutes displayed centrally and the hours in a sub-dial at 12 o'clock. This particular watch also boasts a running seconds sub-dial at six o'clock. The Galet Regulateur is housed in the brand's new Montre École case, available in both stainless steel and white gold, measuring 40mm in diameter and 10.95mm in thickness. The dial showcases a silver-tone ground with a vertical brushed finish and snailed sub-dials with a warm nickel finish, adorned with intricate details such as slim Roman numerals and a dark grey chapter ring with blue Arabic numerals.
Inside, the Galet Regulateur is powered by the FBN Caliber 228.01, an automatic movement wound with Laurent Ferrier's renowned micro-rotor and featuring a silicon escapement. The movement comprises a total of 189 components, 35 of which are jewels, and boasts a 72-hour power reserve. The attention to detail and expert craftsmanship is evident in the movement's superior finish, with large Côtes de Genève on the main bridges, circular graining on the mainplate, and hand-beveling and mirror polishing.
The Laurent Ferrier Galet Regulateur seamlessly blends traditional watchmaking techniques with a modern and visually striking design, making it the perfect choice for those seeking a timepiece that exudes both tradition and innovation.
