About the brand

Simon Brette is part of a new generation of independent watchmakers focused on craftsmanship, collaboration, and mechanical authenticity. Rather than building a traditional brand structure, Brette developed the Chronomètre Artisans as a collective project, bringing together specialized artisans to contribute their expertise.

This collaborative approach reflects historical watchmaking traditions, where case makers, dial makers, and movement specialists worked together to create exceptional timepieces. Brette revived this philosophy, ensuring that each component is produced by artisans known for their mastery.

The result is a watch that prioritizes finishing, proportion, and chronometric integrity. Unlike many contemporary releases, the Chronomètre Artisans avoids unnecessary complexity, instead focusing on the quality of execution. This restraint has resonated strongly with collectors who value authenticity and traditional craftsmanship.

With extremely limited production and strong demand from the independent watch community, Simon Brette’s debut creation has quickly established itself as a significant modern collectible. The Chronomètre Artisans represents not only a watch, but the emergence of a new and thoughtful voice in independent horology.

About the watch

The Simon Brette Chronomètre Artisans represents one of the most compelling modern interpretations of classical chronometry. Created with the ambition of honoring traditional watchmaking while pushing finishing standards to an exceptional level, the watch reflects a philosophy rooted in collaboration between specialized artisans.

The rose gold case offers a refined and balanced presence, combining classical proportions with contemporary detail. The stepped bezel, sculpted lugs, and elegant finishing create a watch that feels both traditional and distinctive. Every element of the case reflects careful attention to proportion and finishing.

The dial follows a restrained and highly legible layout. The sector-style design emphasizes clarity, while the deadbeat seconds display introduces a subtle mechanical signature. This complication, where the seconds hand jumps in precise increments, reinforces the chronometric focus of the watch and connects it to historical precision timekeepers.

Turning the watch over reveals the true centerpiece: the movement. The Chronomètre Artisans is defined by its extraordinary hand-finishing, with numerous surfaces executed using traditional techniques. Frosted bridges, sharp interior angles, hand-polished bevels, and carefully executed textures demonstrate a level of craftsmanship rarely seen in modern production.

The movement architecture is equally compelling. Designed with symmetry and visual depth in mind, it offers a layered composition that rewards close inspection. The deadbeat seconds mechanism further enhances the technical sophistication, providing both functional precision and visual interest.

What distinguishes the Chronomètre Artisans is not a single complication, but the holistic execution. Case, dial, and movement all working together to create a cohesive, artisanal object. For collectors, it represents the emergence of a new independent voice with a clear identity and uncompromising standards.
