ABOUT THE WATCH
The perpetual calendar of Audemars Piguet was developed in 1981. It was put in a Royal Oak case in 1984 with the ref. 5554 which quickly switched its reference name for 25554.
The present watch belongs to a reference that lived concomitantly: the 25636 which shares the same aesthetic but was mainly produced with skeleton dials. This beauty is proposing for many the best of most worlds: a true complication encased in a design masterpiece 39mm sports watch made of…platinum! Production years ranged from 1983 until 1993 but this reference was offered for sales between 1986 until 1996. Out of a total production of 264 pieces only in all metal combined, only 126 were ever made in yellow gold. (34 in platinum, 52 in steel, 49 two-toned and 3 pink gold). The presented timepiece was most probably a Christmas gift as it was purchased on December 16th, 1993!
Dial: Skeleton with golden subregisters and MK1 lettering. Original « needle hands » for hours/minutes and blued small hands for subregisters.
